IPP has been a resource for IDRC since 1997, both at our Head Office in Ottawa and in our offices abroad. Throughout the years IPP has provided expert advice and assistance for a number of ergonomic initiatives: ergonomic needs analysis, furniture upgrades, training sessions for employees, workstation assessments and interventions to prevent and/or reduce disability related to computer and other work. Nylene Canada Inc. has been utilizing the expertise of IPP since the last quarter of 1995. We are extremely pleased with the level of service provided to us by this progressive company. Our fibre operations are labour-intensive and require unique body positioning and movements to perform certain aspects of the job. These areas were experiencing a high frequency of soft tissue injuries. IPP evaluated each job task and made recommendations for ergonomic changes and work practices. The frequency of injuries has significantly been reduced with one case of carpal tunnel syndrome reported over the last 16 years.
